Comanche Acres Iris Gardens is located in the gently rolling hills of northwest Missouri near Gower. Jim Hedgecock is the owner and 2023 marks his 43rd year in business.

The Iris gardens take in some 8 acres. Tall Bearded Iris are, and always will be our mainstay in irises. We grow over 2000 named Tall Bearded varieties, as well as several thousand seedlings. Spuria irises, the king of the landscaping irises, are exploding in popularity. We grow over 200 varieties of Spuria irises, as well as several thousand Spuria seedlings.

12 April Update:
My early prediction on bloom times is at least some bloom by Mother's Day. If we get a spell of warm weather that lasts a week or so, it could be a week earlier. Bloom generally lasts about 3 weeks for the tall bearded irises. The spuria irises typically start blooming around June 5.
